Abstract
Sometimes the information landscape feels like pure chaos. Every day, we’re flooded with information from a variety of sources. When you’re trying to find something specific and you have a deadline, it’s even easier to drown in a sea of Google search results. This presentation is designed to be a life preserver. We will cover the following topics: An overview of the resources available through the Great Lakes Regional Pollution Prevention Roundtable and other P2Rx Centers; A walk-through of the Pollution Prevention 101 LibGuide, including techniques for searching efficiently; How to evaluate information sources; Where to find information about specific topics, including: Energy efficiency; Water conservation; Case studies; Safer chemical substitution; Vendor and product information; Who to ask if you can’t find what you need to solve your problem or answer your questions. Presented at Pollution Prevention 101 Training at the 2017 Triple Regional Pollution Prevention Roundtable.
