- Abstract
- The idea of postmodernism improved the image of both developed and developing countries but also uprooted their regional style, traditional use of materials and construction technologies. Concrete, glass rectangular masses reflects the idea of a contemporary building to common man. Our Cities are suffering through the dystopian ills that these ideas created. The research proposal suggests a New-clear reactor that can reduce extensive energy uses in a building, cure the city from pollution and prevent the environmental impact it poses at an urban scale. These reactors can be fit onto large surfaces of buildings that has decorated the materialistic jungle. Membranes lined with shape memory alloy reacts dynamically changing their shapes by responding to the temperature of the building and the environment. This helps in regulating the comfort level inside the building by protecting it from direct solar heat gain. The reactors are compressed in a depoyable unit with robotic arms which allows the units to move along a buidlings’ surface curing the building. The New-clear Reactors’ shells are lined with recyclable Graphene that can absorb pollution. They can also self sustain by themselves and can move around the cities with the help of drones and can clean air pollution in cities.
