- Abstract
- Network connections on the World Wide Web are often represented using graphs, with each node representing a single IP location and edges representing connection among nodes. This graph visualizes the geographical distribution of various communicating IP nodes as well as the average IP packet Round-Trip Time (RTT) or link latency for each connection edge. A graph visualization tool was used to visualize the topology and the RTT traces, which consists of hundreds of thousands of communicated nodes. This clearly confirms our earlier assumption that geographical distribution has some effect on the RTT, with longer geographical distances associated with larger RTT values. The red edges shows average RTT of more than 300ms, while the yellow, green, and blue edges show average RTT of 150-300ms, 50-150ms, and less than 50ms, respectively.
