Abstract
Overall, based on the results of the analyses reported in this study, it seems that those who believed the position of women in the labor market in Hungary in the early 1990s was better than the position of men were correct. However, comparing these results to those obtained by other researchers, it seems the view that Hungarian women fared better than women in the other countries formerly under Soviet domination in the early 1990s is not correct.
