Abstract
A comparison of the tonal levels of the principal tones of the three utterance types revealed several interesting findings, including: the lack of initial tonal difference between DS declaratives and absolute interrogatives, the presence of nuclear upstepping to distinguish between declaratives and absolute interrogatives, and an elevated initial tonal level in pronominal interrogatives.
