Abstract
These findings are important in that it is the first study that looks at the effect of the study-abroad experience on L2 learners' Spanish syntax. Empirical evidence gained from generative studies focusing on the development and acquisition of underlying syntactic competence by L2 learners in an immersed setting would contribute to a clearer picture of the nature of UG access and the influence of the language learners' first language.
