Abstract
"""On-Line"" circulation control has been a reality at the Illinois State Library since late in 1966. It would be incorrect, of course, to think that this was accomplished overnight or instantaneously. Such was decidedly not the case. Beginning as early as 1959, many hours of discussion and planning were required by the office of Secretary of State and its collaborating Drivers License Division and Illinois State Library staff members."
