Abstract
Direct binding of ligands to PyrR was studied by equilibrium dialysis. The dissociation constant calculated for UMP was 27 +/- 3 muM, whereas the KD for PRPP was 18 +/- 2 muM. There was no detectable binding of uracil or PPi to PyrR, which was consistent with each of the four proposed conformational change models.
