Abstract
The empirical findings show that the supply chain readiness factors collectively determine how different value components affect the performance of supply chain collaboration. Therefore, we develop a new dimension 'index of supply chain readiness' to capture the effect. By calculating the readiness index, each firm can determine where they are in terms of the collaboration stage and thereby draw roadmaps for better supply chain performance. From the empirical observations, technology readiness and large trading volumes are key conditions for non-adopters to improve their readiness for adoption. Adopters develop their expansion strategies by first putting their focus on improving their business processes and then on improving their interactions with industrial environments. Therefore, this new theory provides companies a guideline for measuring their readiness for supply chain collaboration as well as the value they should target on.
