Abstract
The enhanced inhibitory activities of these novel aziridine diphosphate and methanediphosphonates towards squalene synthase compared to the analogous acyclic azabifarnesyl diphosphate may indicate a bridged non-classical, protonated cyclopropane intermediate in the formation of presqualene diphosphate.
