Abstract
Several acetonitrile complexes have been prepared; among these are [Cp*Os(CH 3CN)3][PF6], [CP*Os(PPh3)2(CH 3CN)][PF6], and [Cp*Os(COD)(CH3CN)]-[PF6 ]. Addition of 1,3-cyclooctadiene to Cp*2Os2Br 4 in refluxing ethanol affords the allyl complex Cp*Os(eta 3-C8H13)Br2. Treatment of the dimethyl compound Cp*Os(eta3-C4H7)Me2 with HBF4 and water affords the aqua-substituted complex, [Cp*Os(eta3-C4H7)(OH2)][BF 4](eta3-C4H7 =eta3-CH 2CMeCH2). The unusual bridging anilide complex Cp*2 Os2(NPh)2Br2 is synthesized by treating Cp*2Os2Br4 with LiNHPh in ether.
