Abstract
Also presented are initial efforts to measure the solidification rate of metal samples using linear methods, including the design and operation of a deferential photo detector as well as the first quantitative measurements of the thermal conductance of metal-metal interfaces. The room temperature interface conductance of the as-prepared Al-Cu interface is 4 GW M -2 K-1, and the interface conductance decreases as the interface is made diffuse by ion beam mixing.
