Abstract
Results from the phytoestrogen study indicate that the phytoestrogens, daidzein and genistein at concentrations (0, 10 nM, 30 nM, 100 nM, 300 nM, 1 muM and 3 muM) had no developmental effect on pig embryos, however pig embryos cultured with 3 muM daidzein may improve blastocyst formation over control embryos. Further studies will be required to determine whether higher levels of these phytoestrogens affect embryonic development.
