Abstract
The results of the analyses show that the lining deformations and moments are highly dependent on the location of the longitudinal joint with respect to the direction of the major principal stresses in the ground. Also, the results show that as the circumferential joint shear stiffness and normal load (shoving force) increase, the lining behavior becomes closer to that of the no-joint lining.
