Abstract
Consistent with the assumption of the sequential cueing effect, the second explanation asserts that the decision frame of the initial advisor in the sequence influenced the decision makers' interpretation of the organization's goal and the subsequent information they received from their advisors. It portrays the decision makers' problem representation as consisting of their interpretation of the organization's goal and specific elements of the advisors' proposed solutions. The decision to implement a specific solution, in turn, was based on the compatibility between a proposed solution and a decision maker's subjective understanding of the organization's goal.
