Abstract
Polarization field refers to the spatial distribution of the polarization state of light. Polarization field sensing is to map the spatial distribution of the polarization state of the light in space. With regard to this issue, the effort is focused on fabricating a novel micro-optical device called micropolarizer array. A micropolarizer array is a polarization filter array which consists of a large number of micron size thin film polarizers with different polarization orientations. High resolution multiaxis thin film micropolarizer arrays are fabricated. A three-state polarization imager in the visible wavelength range has been demonstrated. Polarization field sensing by using multistate polarization imager is analyzed and presented.
