Abstract
For decentralized control, we study multisensor and multicontroller architectures. For such decentralized structures, we introduce lower bounds on information rates leading to the existence of controllers and coders leading to stability. We further obtain stabilizing decentralized coder and controllers exploiting the correlation in the observations in the case where a centralized decoder is present, or strong connectivity in the decentralized system in case a centralized decoder is not present. We investigate the optimal communications and control policies for each of the architectures.
