Abstract
The reactions p&d1;p→hh→4g ,p&d1;p→p 0h→4g and p&d1;p→p0p 0→4g were investigated at incident antiproton momenta between 1.188 and 1.445 GeV/c using the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) at CERN. This investigation was part of an overall program searching for exotic resonances in antiproton-proton annihilations, focusing on the region near the xi(2220). Yields for the reactions p&d1;p→hh→4g ,p&d1;p→p 0h→4g and p&d1;p→p0p 0→4g are presented as a function of center-of-mass energy over this region. Upper limits are set for the likelihood of the production of the xi(2220) in these channels based on its non-observation in the data presented.
