Abstract
The study connects critical biographical experiences of these students with culture, history, and social structure. Stories, experiences, and perceptions of schooling from the perspective of African American male students who have been labeled behavior problem students. The grand question asks who are you and what is life like for you? The research provides insight from students. The perspectives from this population have previously not garnered much attention. This research also provides an opportunity for the reader to analyze and compare narratives to preexisting theory concerning issues and factors generally related to students' life experiences and particularly related to issues concerning student delinquency and student home environment.
