Abstract
Finally, the present study found that losses in governmental subsidies experienced by supported employees after leaving sheltered workshops were more than offset by gains in wages earned and fringe benefits received. Further, revenue lost due to tax credits given to employers of workers with disabilities did not adversely affect the cost-efficiency of supported employment programs from the taxpayer and societal perspectives.
