Abstract
"This new semiotic, entitled ""rhetorical semiotics,"" is systematically developed by means of such major concepts as indexing (as from Peirce), valence (as from Kamberelis), congruence (as from Moyer), and intentional refraction (as from Bakhtin). Upon this foundation is further developed a potentially far-reaching and interrelated semiotic system, involving yet other interrelated formulations more precisely addressing that which facilitates discourse proficiency."
