Abstract
Observation, interviews, and document review were used in this qualitative study to investigate instruction in a nuclear reactor control room simulator. Simulator instruction was studied from several relevant perspectives: the goals of instruction as outlined by Cervaro (1988, 1992), the orientations to adult learning as described by Merriam and Caffarella (1991), and the modes of meaningful learning described in West, Farmer, and Wolff (1991).
