Abstract
The behaviors contained in this framework are: Authentic (with sub-indicators of: genuineness, caring, consideration, warmth, knowing and honesty), Supportive (with sub-indicators of collaboration, collegiality, praise, listening, modeling and protection), Empowering (with sub-indicators of efficacy-building, reflection, respect, validation and control-enhancing) and Communicative (with sub-indicators of open, influence, articulation, credible, accountability, dialogue, visibility and confidentiality). The results of this study provide a substantive framework for further developing the understanding of the importance of principal leadership behaviors, as well as specifically identifying those leadership behaviors that promote and building trust between a principal and teachers in a school.
