Abstract
The National debate on the Black-white test score gap or the achievement gap has garnered much attention. In lieu of this, is the reality of emerging literature highlighting varying communities successfully educating Black students exclusive of school districts that arguably fail Black students. Here the author, Blackademically speaking, unearths the voices of Black parents, teachers, activists, etc. all of whom believe in the success of Black students despite social forces that suggest otherwise.
