Abstract
The emphasis on local context and participant perspectives that underlined this study required a research method that would provide participants a voice. Thus, qualitative inquiry methods: interviews, document review, and observations were employed. This combination of methods expanded the depth of the research and provided a foundation for additional discussion about the roles and responsibilities of rural community college trustees as they relate to their respective communities and districts.
