Abstract
The findings of the two error analyses were used to develop a framework for a pedagogical grammar explicating differences between Thai/English semantic space via the concepts of contrastive mapping and contrastive examples. The study concluded with an exploration of next steps for further improvement of supportive resources for metacognition by means of available technology, i.e., Microsoft Word 2000 Grammar Checker. In principle, the grammar checker should provide a stimulus for students to think metacognitively but it was found to be of limited utility.
