Abstract: THIS ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE importance of research for library management. As a means to increase the impact of research, a number of propositions are suggested. These propositions identify possible strategies for both researchers and library managers to better create and use research. Conceptual and practical issues also are discussed that affect the utilization of library research, and the article concludes by stressing that the utilization of research will improve only with a conscious effort on the part of both library managers and library/information science researchers.
