- Abstract
- The primary objective of my research is to validate the enhanced use of recycled large rocks for weak soil stabilization in Illinois. The underlying reason for using such granular materials is to ensure a smooth working platform that can endure the placement and compaction of the overlain layers. Current laboratory standards are deemed to be sufficient for proper assessment of such material performance. In this light, 24 different combinations of pavement were constructed with seven different types of materials for performance evaluation under simulated traffic loading. This picture shows a portion of these constructed test sections (situated in Rantoul, IL) with an excellent view of US Midwest clouds.
