Abstract
In a given close-range photogrammetric project, various combinations of data acquisition and data reduction methods yield results that meet different levels of accuracy requirement. It is the responsibility of the photogrammetrist to seek out the best solution according to the goals and objectives of the project at hand. This study concentrates on non-metric cameras and investigates two representative photographic systems. The various alternatives to object space control are analyzed. The performances of three popular models for correction of systematic errors are analyzed. Improving the accuracy using the multiple approach is investigated. A three-phase modular adjustment scheme is developed to optimize the data reduction system. A simulator is developed to embrace several factors of network design problem. A flow diagram is presented to demonstrate the suggested selection scheme for system optimization. The use of personal computers for data reduction is investigated.
