Abstract
Developed in this thesis is a method of voltage control which uses a partial information structure. In this method, the information available to the controller is the set of voltages at a small set of busses in the system called pilot points. The information from the pilot points is then used in a hierarchical control structure to rest voltage setpoints of various control devices. In the course of solving some problems that arise in the designing of the controller, some original algorithms for the solution of certain types of linear systems are developed.
