Abstract
"Sustainable Economic Development (SED) is a broad and often elusive concept. This paper analyzes the framing of this ""fuzzy"" idea by a group seeking to establish the first Geopark in the Netherlands. this paper includes a discussion and critique of the Geopark model in general, an analysis of the socio-economic trends of the proposed Geopark area, and discussion of the results of a survey of Project Group members and a round of follow-up interviews. Recommendations are made on how to broaden the intended SED impact of the proposed Geopark."
