Abstract
This project will examine the tensions between the planning process for Lathrop's redevelopment, and the overall planning and implementation process for the Plan for Transformation. It will provide a general description of forces affecting the usage of affordable housing in Chicago, a quick historical glance of the CHA, and a detailed description of the Lathrop Homes for general context. It will also highlight the discrepancies found with both, the plan and the process, offer analytical critiques with the use of maps and tables, and display the opinions of Lathrop's remaining tenants and community activists.
