Abstract
Mt. Vernon (Jefferson County) has a temperate continental climate dominated by maritime tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico from about April through October, maritime polar air from the Pacific Ocean in spring, fall and winter, with a few short-duration incursions of continental polar air from Canada during winter.
