Ottawa is the county Seat of LaSalle County and serves as a commercial, industrial, and farming center in north-central Illinois. Ottawa is located along the north side of the Illinois River Valley, and the topography beyond the river valley is generally a flat glacial plain. The valley and surrounding topography has no measurable effect on the local climate or weather.
