Abstract
This project was completed for the purpose of providing recommendations for the City of Champaign Planning and Development Department for how the Walk Champaign pedestrian plan might address community health. This document highlights the connection between walkability and health and incorporates the perspectives of local professionals in the fields related to health and wellness to compile recommendations for what a healthy walking environment in Champaign would look like as well as how Champaign might get there. The project has three major components: literature review; interview process; and application.
