Abstract

Throughout November 2010, grant partners organized focus group meetings that were held in five, Alabama locations: Montgomery, Evergreen, Mobile, Moundville, and Evergreen. In teams of two, they collected qualitative information that supplemented the quantitative data compiled from the statewide collections survey. Fifteen people participated in each meeting. All together the focus group participants represented fifty-two Alabama organizations. Their observations became the basis for a facilitated, strategic planning meeting where participants developed a collections care plan for our state.

In 2009, the five grant partners began to promote all grant activities as the Alabama Cultural Commons.
