- Abstract
- With this image I wanted to connect the three plays that are discussed and compared in my research pertaining to new play development. The clock seen in the image is distorted with symbols representing each play respectively and exemplifies how Battle of Angels by Tennessee Williams, Lost Lake by David Auburn, and Fragmentation by Joe Shetina can be compared through communication, production strategies, and creative processes. The symbol to the far left represents angel wings for Battle of Angels, the dollar is connected to Lost Lake because how much power money has in the world of the play, and a gun is used to symbolize the main action of the play Fragmentation, which is a school shooting. Together, the symbols and imperfect lines relate to how the process of creating theatre is changing immensely while its worth and power remains present today.
