- Abstract
- This network picture was constructed from children's friendship nominations in an elementary classroom. Three clusters emerge naturally and could be identified in different colors. Children's popularity and classroom centrality status are marked in their node sizes. I am interested in the dynamic changes in children's social and cognitive interactions while engaged in small group collaborative learning. And friendship has been identified as a very important factor that influences the dynamic interactions. By looking at the moment-by-moment interactions in small group discourses, my ongoing research has been trying to capture how how children's friendship and social status influence their collaborative interactions over time.
