- Abstract
- "Taken on a BioInspiration walk, I use observations of nature to allow thoughts to percolate and gain inspiration from my surroundings. I research innovation and creativity on an organizational level in the sport business context. It is so easy to keep distance between yourself and what you research, but I believe I must practice what I preach. To stop and ""smell the roses,"" or in this case, observe the pattern of frost on a leaf, is vital to a creative life. So often we think of creativity being only in the arts, but through a course I'm taking in the engineering department, I can see the important role of creativity in every aspect of Recreation, Sport, and Tourism. Even the facility management department! Creativity and innovation in solving the problems facing sport could revolutionize the industry. Therefore I make sure to take a moment everyday, no matter how cold it is outside, to soak in the sights, sounds, and smells of the natural world."
