Abstract
Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the time domain and frequency domain transformation, is a necessity in digital spectrum analysis. In this project, a hardware 8 points FFT design is implemented and simulated. This FFT structure works as part of an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) communication system. This structure is based on the radix 2 FFT algorithm and the Radix-2 Single-Path Delay Feedback (R2SDF) architecture. The FFT circuit simulation is implemented in Verilog HDL.
MATLAB simulations with both floating and fixed points are used for the whole communication system.
