Zeni, who worked as a senior assistant in the administration of former Illinois Governor Richard Ogilvie, discusses his educational experience at Sangamon State University in the very early years. He first attended SSU classes at the First United Methodist Church and Leland Hotel before the campus was completed. Zeni’s undergraduate degree was in Work, Culture and Society and the graduation ceremony was held at the State Armory in 1973. He delivered the UIS commencement address to the 2005 graduating class.
