Abstract
Cytosensors are widely applied to detect chemicals that produced by cells in certain substances to prove the existence of the cells. This technology is widely applied in the environmental and medical field. A light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) was set up to study different electrical signals the system can detect with and without the chemicals produced by the cells in the substance. This system was formed by the cell substance, a laser pointer, a lock-in amplifier, a potentiostat, a photodetector and the labview program. The LAPS detected the laser light passed through the substance and converted it into electrical signal. The signals were recorded and studied in the research to recognize different chemicals produced by the cells. The lock-in amplifier modulated sinusoidal signals into the laser output. The potentiostat biased the cell substance at different DC voltage. The photodetector detected the light output and converted it into current. The lock-in amplifier received and displayed the same frequency and same phase current with the initial sinusoidal signal. The measured current data was used to recognize different chemicals in the substance.
