- Abstract
- The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) uses the Condition Rating Survey (CRS) procedure to evaluate the condition of pavements and to project their future performance. Since 1994, IDOT has been using mathematical models to calculate CRS and to predict the future CRS of the pavements. The objective of this study was to update the existing CRS calculation and prediction models and to create new models for pavement types without models. Neither the CRS calculation nor prediction models have been updated in the last seven to ten years. As a result of the project, three CRS calculation models were created for pavement types without existing calculation models, and eight CRS calculation models were revised. Additionally, CRS prediction models were created for four pavement types without existing prediction models, and CRS prediction models were revised for 23 pavement types. This report summarizes the creation and revision of the CRS calculation and CRS prediction models.
