Abstract
"This video project aimed to show my discourse-centered approach to analyzing the ethnographic data I collected. My initial research question was, ""Does gender impact the ways to which students present themselves and their arguments, verbally and physically, and is there a distinction between how men's and women's arguments are taken up (or not) by the classroom or professor?"" I observed 3 classrooms, but only used data from two. I video-recorded each classroom for a total of at least 3 hours. I then transcribed excerpts to use for discourse analysis. This video is a small excerpt of those recordings."
This collection examines ways in which the U.S. university and the American college experience are affected by diversity, and difference. In particular, these student projects examine experiences of diversity on campus, including important contemporary social, cultural, and political debates on equity and access to university resources.
