"Our video project, entitled ""LGBT@UIUC,"" deals with the issue of sexual identity on campus and the trials and tribulations faced by the members of the LGBT community attempting to deal with what these labels for sexuality mean in relation to their personal identity. During our investigation, we found the theme of labels inhibiting diversity because they make the community an exclusive entity and push most groups to spend more time on community building and less time on outreach projects. Despite the fact that all of our interviewees were happy to be a part of this campus, they hoped to see the need for sexual identity labeling to decrease in the future, and for the UIUC campus to become a more integrated, accepting and truly diverse environment for all."
