The objectives of this study were to
gather data on the reproductive cycle
and the basic anatomy of the reproductive
system of the raccoon and to investigate
those aspects of the raccoon's
reproductive physiology that gave promise
of increasing our knowledge in the
general field of mammalian reproductive
physiology. This study was part of an
effort to obtain a refined understanding
of the population dynamics of the species.
Other aspects of the study will be published
elsewhere.
