Abstract
Our podcast was developed from a life history interview we conducted with a Korean international student at the U of I. In our podcast, we focused on the parts of the interview where our interviewee talked about her experiences of racism or isolation from domestic students, and her struggles to make American friends. We contrasted her experience with her brother's, which was much more positive.
This collection examines the influence of globalization on the university and the university's place in a burgeoning world market for higher education.
This collection examines ways in which the U.S. university and the American college experience are affected by diversity, and difference. In particular, these student projects examine experiences of diversity on campus, including important contemporary social, cultural, and political debates on equity and access to university resources.
The university offers an extraordinary opportunity to study and document student communities, life, and culture. This collection includes research on the activities, clubs, and durable social networks that comprise sometimes the greater portion of the university experience for students.
