Since 1992 Pat Morey has been the director of the Women's Resource Center at the University of Illinois, where she continues to work today. She has worked at UIUC for twenty-four years. Before that, Pat Morey lead the Women's Center of Champaign. She attended the University of Illinois where she received a degree in Social Work and then a PHD in Library and Information Sciences. Throughout her tenure, as both a student and a faculty member of the University of Illinois, Pat Morey has been an activist and advocate for the right of Women and LGBT rights. Her life has been dedicated to women's and LGBT equality, safety, and education.

This collection examines ways in which the U.S. university and the American college experience are affected by diversity, and difference. In particular, these student projects examine experiences of diversity on campus, including important contemporary social, cultural, and political debates on equity and access to university resources.
