- Abstract
- The Project Risk Management Plan (RMP) is a standard auxiliary document to the Project Execution Plan (PEP). The PEP describes the purpose and general plan for the XSEDE project. The RMP documents the processes employed to manage risk proactively as a component of effective project management. It is a management tool for mitigating the effects of events that may adversely impact the program. A common understanding of risk management is that it is the process of identifying and analyzing risk and then taking appropriate steps to reduce risks to an acceptable level. It is important to note that although this document discusses risk management in the context of project management, the XSEDE project uses exactly the same processes to manage risks with respect to ongoing operations.
