Abstract

This file, part of the Illinois long-term selection experiment for oil and protein in corn (https://hdl.handle.net/2142/3524), contains values obtained for protein in the strains selected for oil (IHO, ILO, etc.) and the values for oil obtained for the strains selected for protein (IHP, ILP, etc.) each generation. This file covers 1896-2004. Each generation a bulk sample of the selected strain was analyzed for the other trait being studied. That is, for the protein strains (IHP,ILP, etc.) a sample was analyzed for oil and for the oil strains (IHO, ILO, etc.) a sample was analyzed for protein. The purpose was to measure possible correlated responses to selection.
